WORSHIP

Worship – It’s a BIG deal!

“Ascribe to the Lord the glory due His name; worship the Lord in the splendor of holiness.” We were made to worship…all of us. Worship is not about music. Worship is not about preaching. Worship is not about drama. Worship is not about sound & lights. Worship is not about many of the things that we associate with it. Worship is about God…and you. He is worthy of our worship and we are commanded to worship. That’s why we give considerable time and effort to corporate worship…because He is worthy and because we are commanded to do so.

We are told in Psalm 66:2 to “make His praise glorious”. There is a glory to be found in corporate worship that cannot be duplicated apart from the people of God lifting Him up in praise. Sure, we worship God privately, but there is a “glorious-ness” about the assembled people of God gathered in worship together.

So, what is your part in that process? For many of you, it could be singing in our choir. For others, it might be playing a musical instrument. For some, it is working in the sound and media ministry. For others, it involves greeting or taking up the offering. For ALL, it involves coming with an unreserved heart of praise and thanksgiving and lifting up the God who deserves our praise. Psalm 100 says to “Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise.” May it ever be said that we are people who worship. We encourage you to explore the following areas where you might want to plug into the Worship Ministry at FBC El Dorado. For more information, call the church office at 870.863.7177.
