LeaderTreks Mission Trip to Austin, Texas — June 26 – July 3, 2021

This mission trip will be for 7th – 12th graders. Cost: $400 plus 6 meals.

Want to Grow IN your faith?

This mission trip will be a challenging, stretching, and safe experience! We will have the opportunity to grow in our faith as we serve various ministries in the Austin area. One of the strengths of LeaderTreks is their commitment to develop and call up student leaders. Students will have the opportunity to lead, problem solve, and serve meaningfully on the front lines. We will be serving with two resource centers that provide food and clothing to families in need. We will build a fence for a ministry that rescues women out of the sex trafficking industry. In addition to these service opportunities, we will have a Scavenger Hunt / Mission Race on Wednesday. Friday, we will have an adventure day.

Another strength of LeaderTreks is that we will be the only church group they are working with that week. They hosted over 30 mission trips last summer without one issue with COVID-19. Space is limited to 27 participants so click on the sign up link above and register today!

We will leave Saturday, June 26 at 8:00 AM from the CLC parking lot and drive through Shreveport, LA, and Tyler, TX, on our way to Waco. We will stop for a little while in Waco to stretch our legs, then we will finish the drive to Austin and stay in a hotel Saturday night. Sunday, we will attend a church in Austin before meeting up with our LeaderTreks interns in the afternoon. Monday through Friday, we will serve in a project / adventure each morning and afternoon. Finally, Saturday morning, we will depart at 8:00 AM for the trip home. We plan to arrive back at the CLC parking lot around 6:00 PM.

LeaderTreks will take care of all the meals Sunday afternoon – Saturday morning (except Friday night where we go out to eat). Students will be responsible for 2 meals on the trip to Austin and 2 meals on the way back to El Dorado.

We will be staying at Palm Valley Lutheran Church (2500 East Palm Valley Blvd, Round Rock, Texas 78665). 

What to bring

• 1 set of “church clothes.” Comfy clothing / active wear and shoes for the projects.

• Pajamas that are modest.

• Shower towels and toiletries (toothpaste, toothbrush, deodorant, etc).

• Money for 6 meals.

• Pillow, sleeping bag, air mattress or cot.
